(1)System Overview
Traditional coke ovens produce very little raw coke oven gas at the end of the coking process. Due to thermal buoyancy, a negative pressure inevitably forms at the bottom of the oven chamber, which can easily draw in air from the outside, causing coke combustion, damage to the graphite sealing of the oven walls, and high temperatures at the oven top. Additionally, to address the issues of smoke emissions from the oven door, charging hole, and riser due to the sudden increase in raw coke oven gas during charging, Dalian Pucheng Control System Co., Ltd. has designed and developed the Single Chamber Pressure Regulation (SCPR®) system to meet the needs of the coking process.
The SCPR®-II Single Chamber Pressure Regulation System independently installs a single chamber pressure regulation device between the water seal valve and the Goose-neck pipe. The pneumatic actuator adjusts the opening of the regulation device, ensuring that no negative pressure (≥+5Pa) occurs at the bottom of the oven chamber throughout the coking cycle under the pressure of the GCM (+50~-350Pa). It also allows for linear adjustment of the raw coke oven gas pressure output. Additionally, the system retains the water seal valve structure, and the pneumatic actuator for the water seal valve enables automatic connection and disconnection between the oven chamber and the GCM.
The SCPR®-II Single Chamber Pressure Regulation System features a compact size, light weight, and high adjustment accuracy, making it suitable for the construction of new coke ovens or the online retrofitting of different types of coke ovens.
(2)System Characteristics
1.High Adjustment Accuracy, Low Flow Resistance
The dedicated regulating device of the SCPR®-II system is designed using professional fluid dynamics calculations, achieving a flow characteristic curve close to ideal proportional characteristics. It can achieve precise adjustment of the raw coke oven gas pressure throughout the coking cycle. The SCPR®-II system's adjustment device has low flow resistance and can effectively ensure smooth flow under conditions of maximum raw coke oven gas volume during the initial of coking, and under non-high negative pressure conditions of the gas main, making it suitable for multiple coking processes.
2.Compact Size, Lightweight
The adjustment device of the SCPR®-II system is designed to be compact in size (height of the dedicated regulating device is less than 250mm) and lightweight (weight of the dedicated regulating device is less than 200kg).
In newly constructed coke ovens, it can be installed at the bottom of the Goose-neck pipe without increasing the height of the ascending pipe. In renovated coke ovens, the installation of the adjustment device will not significantly increase the load on the ascending pipe, and the increment in the height and weight of the ascending pipe is minimal.
3.Easy Installation and Replacement on Site
The dedicated regulating device of the SCPR®-II system retains the water seal valve, maintaining the sealing function, and independently separates the raw coke oven gas and the GCM.Meanwhile, the single adjustment device adopts a modular connection design, making it convenient for rapid installation and replacement in different coke ovens on site with the water seal valve closed.
4.Facilitates On-line Maintenance
The SCPR®-II adjustment device is designed with a scouring-resistant structure, enabling long-term use under ammonia flushing conditions. Additionally, the independent pneumatic actuator prevents clogging due to tar deposition, ensuring maintenance-free operation and reducing the amount of maintenance work required.
5.Investment-Saving Technology
The SCPR®-II system's pressure regulation technology is independently developed by our company, with dedicated patent rights. It involves no additional high patent fees and significantly reduces system function and equipment costs, minimizing design optimization and construction costs.
